32nd Annual L.L.Bean 4th of July 10K, supporting the YMCA - July 4, 2009

LLBean 10K Race LogoJoin us for this is a family-friendly event, with a 10K followed by a family fun run! Families are encouraged to make a full day of this event, with a parade down Main Street later in the morning, L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery School activities in the afternoon, and a concert in the evening, followed by fireworks. All proceeds from this event go to support the Casco Bay YMCA's financial assistance program for youth activities, ensuring that no one will ever be turned away from the YMCA because of inability to pay.

2008 Race Recap - Race Results
The 2008 race was our most successful one yet!  With over 1,000 runners, we far surpassed our past records for participation.  And speaking of breaking records, we saw a new course record for women.

With all proceeds going to the Casco Bay YMCA’s financial assistance program, the Y received $15,000.  This was the largest amount raised since the Y first partnered with L.L.Bean 6 years ago.

28th Annual Peaks to Portland Swim - July 25, 2009 (rain date 7/26/2009) - Register Online

The Greater Portland YMCA is proud to present the 28th Annual Peaks-To-Portland swim, the 2.4 mile swim from Peaks Island to the East End Beach. The swim provides an opportunity for swimmers to challenge their physical and mental abilities, while at the same time raising money for the Cumberland County YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign, providing needed scholarships for youth, adults and families. Last year we gave out over $322,000 in financial assistance and we expect to give out even more this year.

This event will be held on Saturday, July 25th at approximately 8:30AM, with an alternate date of Sunday, July 26th. In case of poor weather or fog, the YMCA may impose a 1 hour delay for the start of the event. Your registration fee includes a T-Shirt (please make sure you indicate your size). Your payment for registration, additional t-shirts must accompany your registration form which you can pay with Matstercard or Visa.

Registration opens March 1st. We are pleased to offer online registration for this event. You may also register in person at the YMCA.
