School Age Child Care Fall 2009 Registration

School Age registration will be held at the Portland YMCA. You may enter the building through the High Street entrance. Parking is available in the High Street lot or in the Gateway Garage located on High Street.

Registration Group	Date	Times
Pre-registration for current Y-Care families	May 13 and 15, 2009	9:00 - 11:00 a.m. / 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Open registration for all families	May 20 and 22, 2009	9:00 - 11:00 a.m. / 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.

A $28, non-refundable registration fee is required at the time of registration.

We have tried to offer hours that are convenient as possible for our parents. If you are registering after May 22nd, you will need to do so at the YMCA during regular business hours. Please contact us with any questions at 874-1111. Follow the link to additional program details.

Summer Camps Open for Registration

The Cumberland County YMCA is now accepting registrations for all camps. Sign up by May 1st to receive an early bird discount. With so many options to choose from you're sure to have fun with Portland In-Town Camp, Camp Osprey, Camp Pineland, and Otter Pond Wilderness Day Camp - where kids can be kids!

Make Our Space Your Space

The community room, pool, aerobic studio, and gym are all available for rent.
As you search for a nice space to hold your office holiday party, let us introduce you to the Y’s Harris Community Room. Or maybe you need a place to host your team’s basketball tournament. Think of the Y Gym. Perhaps your dance troupe needs a space to practice. The mirrored Studio A may be the perfect spot. Is your girls’ scout troop looking for a fun activity in the pool?

No matter what your needs, a Y space could be your space. Plus, the Y is the perfect site for your child’s next birthday party. We offer Splash parties in the pool, Sport parties in the gym, and Art parties in the art studio.

Here’s an age-by-age guide to what’s happening:

6 months to 14 years: Youth Swim Lessons, schedule varies
2 to 3 years: Tiny Picassos (art), Mondays 9:30 – 10:20 am
3 to 5 years: Little Picassos (art), Saturdays, 9:45 – 10:30 am
3 to 5 years: Kid Gym (gym), Fridays 9:30 – 10:20 am
3 to 5 years: Gym & Swim (gym & pool), Thursdays 9:00 – 10:15 am
5 to 9 years: Junior Picassos (art), Saturdays 10:30 – 11:30 am
K to 1st Grade: Youth Basketball League, Saturdays 9:00 – 9:45 am
2nd to 3rd Grades: Youth Basketball League, Saturdays 10:00 – 11:00 am
12 to 17 years: Youth Fitness Orientations, by appointment
13 years & up: Fitness Assessment Testing, by appointment.
